About the event
SILT is a climate responsive, site-specific performance created for the tidal pool at East Beach in Shoeburyness, commissioned as a key piece for Estuary 2021. Imagining how humans might evolve beyond an impending climate disaster, SILT is a performance with a strong dystopian thread, looking at issues of rising sea levels and performed live in the water by a group of around 30 community performers. The SILT creative team includes the dancer and choreographer Becky Namgauds and sound artist Lee Berwick who will create a bold soundscape using recorded sounds from along the estuary that will be played live during the performance. SILT will be performed at 6pm on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th September at East Beach in Shoeburyness. The performance will last approximately 45 minutes. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance. More details on meeting point and audience information will be sent to ticket holders nearer the time.
